OUR STORY
It all began over a Starbucks, one, a hot chocolate covered in cream and caramel drizzle, the other a very mature coffee…
Having worked at the same company together for 5 years, they had slowly come to
realise that they were work wives, soulmates… ying and yang if you will. Although there
was a bit of an age gap, Ange was born middle-aged and Alex was young at heart, so
they met somewhere in the middle and got on like a house on fire. After a few
years where they went their separate ways in different jobs, Ange managed to convince
Alex to join her in Dubai with the promise of an exciting new role, delicious restaurants
and eternal sunshine *cue Alex wearing bucket hats, slathering herself in factor 50
and cursing daylight* It was a match made in heaven…
However as always, good things – and suntans – eventually come to an end and they
both returned to the UK with a refreshed sense of self and a renewed appreciation
for soggy weather.
Whilst Alex went straight into freelancing, Ange had a stint working in Hong Kong.
However it wasn’t long until their stars realigned when Ange also returned to freelance
and numerous collaborations with clients brought the pair together once again. Although
it was never in question, working together as consultants reminded them how great they
were as a team and they decided to set up Muse. A one stop shop for people wanting to
develop or elevate their brand. Whether clients needed just design, or just technical, or
alternatively wanted a full service with both of them working in tandem together, they
had found a niche supporting and mentoring entrepreneurs and established companies.
So with 15 years of working all over the world and always coming back together, they have
solidified a collaborative and fulfilling partnership creating Muse.

After working at the same company together for 5 years many moons ago, Alex and Ange found themselves collaborating once again at a retailer based in Dubai where they took advantage of the countries 5* service and Boots factor 50 sunscreen. ANGELA
From research & shop analysis, range building & design,
to sourcing & costing, I am well versed in all aspects
of the development lifecycle and so look forward to working
with you.
With 15 years experience and a 1st class degree in Contour & Fashion Design from De Montfort University, I was lucky enough to go straight into a design job at a supplier working with high-street brands such as La Senza, M&S and Boux Avenue whilst learning the true ins and outs of the trade. It was this grounding that supported my switch to working in-house in Dubai as the Head of Lingerie, Sleep & Swim Design for the largest value retailer in the Middle East, Max Fashion. From there, an opportunity to work as Product Manager for the Victorias Secret account in a manufacturer based in Hong Kong completed the circle of the product lifecycle. Since having this varied experience, both in terms of exposure to different areas of the industry and working in multiple cultures, I have settled back in the UK to work freelance as a consultant, supporting up and coming and established brands across design and product development.

WE’RE ALL ABOUT
Starbucks, beach walks, hard work, early starts, integrity, cake and dogs. All dogs.
WE’RE NOT ABOUT
Long emails, toxic-culture, boring anything, sulking,
bullsh*t, insincerity, quick fixes, hats.
AGREE? WE’RE PROBABLY A GREAT FIT.

ALEX
If you are a start up wanting to create a brand with your own
fit aesthetic or you are an established brand wanting to overhaul
and elevate their fit then I would love to hear from you.
After completing a BA hons in Design Management from London College of Fashion I took a sharp left turn into something more ‘hands-on’ and a technical role at an M&S supplier, which was where I found my true vocation. I have since been lucky enough to have had 30 years working in a variety of technical roles primarily as a creative pattern cutter, pattern technologist, grader, as well as design technologist and product developer. I am highly skilled across all product ranges (both lingerie and swimwear), with a specialism for bras including fuller bust bras and swimwear. I have been lucky enough to have worked not just in the UK but the US, Hong Kong and the Middle East. I now work independently from the UK in a freelance and consultant capacity and use my extensive knowledge to help start-ups and established brands achieve their goals.
